Accross the green is the mighty Clyde river. To the west about 500 metres is "Trongate". In the good ol' days they used to do this great thing called "Lugging" where, is you were a "bad wee bastard" or "naughty" (in English)they used to nail your ear to the gate so people could chuck stuff at ya, kinda like a quick and easy version of the stocks but without the excessive use of nails that crucifiction involves.
